Our online store is hosted and operated using Shopify's e-commerce platform.
Shopify and other service providers may process personal information on our behalf or provide services that require access to personal information. These providers may process information in New Zealand or overseas.
Where a service provider processes personal information on our behalf, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the arrangement is managed consistently with the Privacy Act 2020 and applicable requirements.
Where a service provider is an independent recipient of personal information outside New Zealand, we will ensure that any disclosure is made on a basis permitted by the Privacy Act 2020, including compliance with Information Privacy Principle 12 where applicable.
11. Overseas Disclosure and International Processing
Some of our service providers, technology providers, payment providers, analytics providers or other business partners may be located outside New Zealand, or may store or process personal information outside New Zealand.
Where personal information is disclosed to an organisation outside New Zealand, we will comply with the requirements of Information Privacy Principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020 where applicable. Where IPP 12 applies, we will only make the disclosure where a permitted basis under the Privacy Act 2020 applies. This may include where the overseas recipient is subject to the Privacy Act 2020, is subject to privacy laws that provide comparable safeguards, is required or agrees to provide comparable privacy safeguards, or where you expressly authorise the disclosure after being informed that the overseas recipient may not be required to protect the information in a way that provides comparable safeguards.
Some overseas service providers may process or store personal information on our behalf as an agent, rather than receiving or using the information as an independent recipient. Where this applies, the arrangement may not constitute an overseas disclosure for the purposes of IPP 12. We remain responsible for ensuring that personal information handled on our behalf is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and applicable requirements.
Where the Privacy Act 2020 requires authorisation or other steps before an overseas disclosure is made, we will take those steps before making the disclosure.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Security measures may include access controls, account security measures, secure payment processing, technical safeguards and appropriate procedures for managing personal information.
